Love...love love from Lee Min Ho at the premiere of Gangnam Blues

The one thing fans were looking for from their favorite idols or actors during a red carpet call or movie premiere is either shaking hands with them, snapping some great close up photos or giving them some pressies. The movie cast of Gangnam Blues - veteran actor Jung Jin Young, Kim Rae Won and Lee Min Ho attended the premiere in Seoul heating up all the fans and public who saw them in real person.

Lee Min Ho has somehow sweep all the women's hearts and affections. There were many photos taken by the media that he has been busy putting up fan services for them. He shook hands with the fans, took selfie shots with their smart phones, personally autographing photos or photos given to him and giving them hugs too. Ah...how nice of him!

Lee Min Ho, Jung Jin Young and Kim Rae Won waving to fans

Even though all the fans were seen clamouring on Lee Min Ho, i think Kim Rae Won looks good as gold. He hasn't aged well,...well he has matured into a better looking charasmatic actor. He is now seen busy filming his drama 'Punch' along with Kim Ah Joong. As for veteran actor Jung Jin Young, he looks like a hobbit sandwiched between 2 tall young good looking actors. LOL!

Lee Min Ho busy signing posters for his fans....very obliging!

Fans swarmed towards Lee Min Ho and Kim Rae Won requesting for signature, selfie shots, shaking hands...etc poor veteran Jung Jin Young...don't think anyone was interested to take with him as you can see from the photos.. Oops!
Wow! I think I will hold that phone or grab them as long as I could... *winks!* It is worth it for the fans who have been queuing up hours ahead in front line and getting that great service.

Lee Min Ho snapping a selca with a fan on the front row! Nice!

Kim Rae Won does his selfie shot with a girl fan! *swoons! Luv him! **

Psychological K-Dramas are on the heat!

The major broadcasting stations of Korea are on the trail of airing tons of psychological twist K-Dramas for the public and even on paid cable channels.
We have Jekyll, Hyde and Me, Kill Me Heal Me and Heart to Heart airing in the same month and year for the viewers to choose. And what is the main reason they are airing so many pscyhological dramas at the same time?

"Kill Me, Heal Me" drama starring Ji Sung, Hwang Jung Eum and Park Seo Jun kicked off with a good start episode ratings from the viewers. The split various personalities of Cha Do Hyun- a meek timid chaebol hair to ID Entertainment Group to wild sexy Shin Se Gi to the bubbly bomb geek Ferry Park makes me cringe and laugh. I find the Secretary Ahn played by Choi Won Young is a notable character. First of all he also plays as the PA in The Heirs drama alongside Lee Min Ho. Now he's guiding Ji Sung coping with his identity disorder illness while assisting him from being threatened by Ki Jun- Do Hyun's cousin brother.

Kim Young Ae, the veteran actress is playing as the rich grandmother and Chairwoman who owns ID Entertainment Co. First she was in Birth of the Beauty as Kang Jun's half-witted mother and now she is a powerful Chairwoman. Woman of power!

There is "Jekyll, Hyde and I" drama starring Hyun Bin and Han Ji Min. These 2 are collaborating for the 2nd time after filming the sageuk movie The Fatal Encounter. Now the 2 are back in TV screen playing as chaebol owner Go Seo Jin and circus master Jang Ha Na in rivals for bidding over the boring circus of Wonderland Park. Go Seo Jin is also another person suffering from split personalities after suffering a trauma. I have yet to watch how Hyun Bin transforms from the cold measly Seo Jin to the nice warm Robin personality. The co-stars are Sung Joon, Hyeri, veteran actor Lee Duk Hwa and Han Sang Jin.

We have all seen the measly and cold character of Kim Joo Won played by Hyun Bin in Secret Garden...I can't wait to see another character he is acting in this drama.

Cable channel tvN is also airing its psychological drama "Heart to Heart" starring Choi Kang Hee and Chun Jung Myeong. The last time I've seen Choi Kang Hee was from Protect the Boss with Ji Sung. This time she plays as the timid shy Cha Hong Do who suffers from blushing problem whenever she meets people. She then disguises as an old grandlady and works as a housemaid in a big mansion. Hong Do admires her childhood friend, Jang Dong Soo who is the detective and even sends home cooked food for him for 7 years but doesn't have the gut to meet him face to face. She meets the arrogant psychiatrist Go Yi Suk from a rich family who also suffers a trauma problem after his elder brother's death.

I am quite a fan of Chun Jung Myeong after seeing him in Real Men variety program in the military suit. He used to be a the 'Red Devil' team leader in the army camp. Now he's playing the arrogant doctor who can't even treat himself and succeed in treating others?

There's Wonder Girls' member Ahn So Hee playing as his younger sister. Lee Jae Yoon who last appeared in Golden Rainbow drama alongside with UEE and Jung Il Woo, this round he plays as the detective Jang Dong Soo whom Hong Do has a crush on.  He has such a warm and nice personality in this drama. Looking forward to see how he goes along with the main leads.

For now, Kill Me Heal Me got my thumbs up after watching the first 2 episodes. Good ratings too!
I can't wait to see more weird transformations from Ji Sung. It's hillarious and to be honest, he hasn't aged much after his last drama and after his marriage too! *swoons*

New Girl Group 'GFriend' to debut

There is another new girl group to debut out on stage soon. And their name of the group is called GFriend or better known as 여자친구‬.
There are total of 6 members = Eum Ji, So Won, Shin Bi, Yeh Rin, Yoo Ju and Eun Ha. These girls are mostly in their teens and the eldest member, So Won is 20 years old.
They are mostly born in 1995-1998 - that makes them even younger than the boy groups.

GFriend Girl Group

GFriend has all the members with big doey eyes to attract the audience.
However for their music- we have yet to hear and see what they will bring out to the pop charts. And for one thing- all their eyes and shape of faces seem to be similar to each other other (as if they went to the same plastic surgeon to fix it- who knows! we are just guessing)

And what does that remind you? They look rather similar to the Girls' Generation when they are about to first debut into the music industry. The girls are always dressed in white blouses and skirts with long wavy or straight hair- innocent look with natural or little make-up.

Girls' Generation for their debut
When I first saw Yuri and YoonA, I thought they were like sisters- they have the similar hairstyle, eyes and face shapes. Of course Hyoyeon was the outstanding of all with her dyed blond hair and eye shape. The girls do produce a sexy look later on.

A-Pink Girl Group members during debut
Let's take a look at A-Pink girl group as well. The members looked very young and innocent naive with white dresses and head bands. Comparing with Girls' Generation, they are cuter looking. Nowadays girl group AOA is taking on the charts with their new choreograph Like A Cat MV attracting the fans and even the men in military camps!

Of course for girl groups - Girls Generation would be the senior of all as they debut earliest.

AOA Girl group

So which Girl Group fan are you? I am not a girl group fan but I do listen to their songs.
SISTAR is a great girl group with strong vocals from Hyorin and sexy look.
A-Pink's eye catching song No No No and dance was a top hit at one stage too.
Meanwhile Girls' Generation maintains their top spot even after Jessica left the group.

MBC's Kill Me, Heal Me drama airs with a good start.

MBC has released and started airing their latest drama on 7th Jan 2015- Kill Me, Heal Me (킬미, 힐미). The title sounds rather peculiar but the casts for the drama is rather strong and interesting. Ji Sung, Hwang Jung Eum, Park Seo Jun, Oh Min Suk and Kim Yu Ri are the leads for this new drama.

This drama revolves about the chaebol, Cha Do Hyun (played by Ji Sung) who is the Vice President of ID Entertainment Co. He has a very split personalities after suffering from some disorder. He then meets and gets treated by the 1st year Resident Psychiatrist, Oh Ri Jin (played by Hwang Jung Eum) who is merely driven around by money with bad habits.

Ri Jin's faternal twin, Oh Ri Ohn (played by Park Seo Jun) is a brilliant novelist but all this while he pretends to be an idiot. There is Han Chae Yun (played by Kim Yu Ri) is Do Hyun's first love. However she Chae Yun is already engaged to Cha Ki Jun (played by Oh Min Suk) who is the President of ID Entertainment. It's going to be a rollercoaster drama where the relationships starts.... Ki Jun showing interest in Ri Jin and there's a one-sided love from Ri Ohn towards Ri Jin.

Must be a busy year for Ji Sung after getting married to his long time sweetheart Lee Bo Young and then awaiting for his son's arrival into this world. What a great daddy!
It's also the 2nd time collaboration drama for Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum.

Hwang Jung Eum has finished her long weekend drama Endless love with Ryu Shi Young and even won an award for the role. Now she is back to filming this drama with Ji Sung.

And as for Oh Min Suk- oh hello Assistant Manager Kang from Misaeng! I find him rather attractive in Misaeng as the coolie head for the Steel Dept. where Baek Ki was super annoyed with him at the start. He's been casted for the President role of the company...He has that company look ID stamped on him. Hah! I am looking forward to see him playing this role opposite Ji Sung.

For Kim Yu Ri, it's been a while since I last saw her in Master's Sun drama so it might be a new change for her in this drama- as the clingy and whingy character I suppose... haha!

Ratings for the 1st broacasted episode seems to be good at 9%+... so it's a good start.
Let's see how well it performs when other new dramas airing this week too.
Good luck to the casts! :)

Lee Seo Jin as special guest in Running Man Episode 229

Running Man PD has indeed done a wonderful job in inviting guests singer- Lee Seung Gi and actress Moon Chae Won to the recent New Year 2015 episode where the 2 have just finished filming their latest movie Today's Love. It has been couple of years where Seung Gi and Chae Won last filmed the SBS drama- "Brilliant Inheritance" together.

The latest episode 229 of Running Man will feature veteran actor Lee Seo Jin who is famous for his grumbling and whining for doing work. His junior Lee Seung Gi has personally invited him as a special guest and Seo Jin is rather reluctant to do anything out of his league. Our dear Grumpy brother has been constantly saying 'No, I don't want to do it'- is really testing out Jae Suk's patience. Out of his comfort zone, Seo Jin has to crawl under a fishing net on a sandy beach and even piggy back his partner Jae Suk to complete the couple mission. What a sight! He's seen grumbling and requesting to go home as soon as possible.

He was the so-called Porter boy for the 4 elderly men in Grandpa Over Flowers variety program directed by Producer Na. Then again Na PD got him and idol singer Tacyeon in Three Meals a day for tVN cable channel. It was hillarious seeing Seo Jin doing gardening, cooking in the kitchen, cleaning and washing up all on his own.

Watch out for the prickly Lee Seo Jin in action with the Running Man casts. He joins them by doing a Piggy Back mission, Back-hug mission with long chopsticks and even eliminating the members with Jae Suk by pairing up matching numbers or mathematical signs. He even dissed out Big Nose Brother, my butt in front of the cameras when Suk Jin failed to carry out his mission with Ha Ha. He shuts Ji Hyo up when she threatens him to spill out his secrets when he knows she has more secrets than he does! There is no way of backing Seo Jin down for he remains laid back and composed unlikely to budge unless it's super urgent.

Fortunately Seo Jin becomes meek as a lamb in front of his niece Ellie as he dearly adores her and she is a Running Man fan. Seo Jin has clearly shown his competitiveness and learns the tricks in this event.

Today's Love film- CJ Entertainment is the main distributor will be screening the film on January 15th in cinemas. In fact Lee Seo Jin is part of the film playing as Chae Won's senior in the weather broadcasting station.

Korean's best Sageuk dramas

Costume period dramas are majority long, draggy and sometimes too long winded so it fails to capture the young audience. However there are some costume period dramas (Sageuk) that are rather interesting and not too lengthy.

Here are some of the list of Sageuk dramas which tops my favorite list of all times.

Iljimae (Lee Jun Ki, Han Hyo Joo, Park Shi Hoo,
              Lee Young Ah)

Ah...who can ever resists the bubbly character played by Lee Jun Ki as a typical Robin Hood in the Joseon Dynasty- robbing the corrupted rich nobles to distribute back to the poor. In fact Jun Ki has won big awards for this drama. Short, sweet and nice transformation story of the market bum Yong Ee to the dark prince Iljimae who leaves a painting of a red plum blossom at the scene.
Love...love the action, romance and the climax of the story!

Moon Embraces the Sun (Kim Soo Hyun, Han Ga In, Jung Il Woo)

The fictional drama about a young Prince Lee Hwon who desires to marry the girl, Yeon U but she suffered a mysterious death plotted by the PM, Queen Dowager and the Princess. Eventually Hwon becomes the King and he still yearns for the late Yeon U upon seeing a female Shaman, Wol who bears the striking resemblance. Kim Soo Hyun basically became super famous after this drama and took on many CFs and awards as well.
The child actors Yeo Jin Goo, Im Si Wan, Kim Yoo Jung and Kim So Hyun turned big celebrities overnight because of the characters they played on.

Ju-Mong (Song Il Guk, Han Hye Jin, Kim                      Seung Soo, Song Ji Hyo)
This is a super long Sageuk series of 81 episodes but I managed to watch all of it. It tells the story of the Goguryeo founder Ju-Mong who went through his teen years and suffer with his step-mother and jealous siblings. So his mother Yuhwa sends
Jumong for intensive training and meets 3 robbers- Oi, Mari & Hyupo together with a merchant's daughter Soseono. This drama earned Song Il Guk a Dae-sang award and ratings hitting over 40-50%.

Dong Yi (Han Hyo Joo, Ji Jin Hee, Lee So Yeon, Park Ha Sun, Bae Soo Bin)
Another historical drama on a watermaid, Dong Yi and she became the Queen's favorite while gaining trust from the Jang Hee Bin at the start. Soon she realizes Consort Jang is evil to depose the current Queen so Dong Yi starts her own investigation to set things back the right away. She was friends with the King Sukjong not knowing his identity and their friendship turns sweet as he took her in as a High Court Lady.

Yi San (Lee Seo Jin, Han Ji Min, Lee Sun Jae, Park Eun Hye, Lee Jong Soo)
If you ever heard of Crown Prince Sado- this is a story about his son,Yi San who earned his grandfather's trust and love and became the King. San witnessed his father's own death and vows to find the truth. San likes the humble maid Song Yeon but he is forced to marry another woman Queen Hyo-Eui. Current Princess Ha Won and Queen Jung Sun were the main villains trying to topple down San. With the help of his childhood friends- Song Yeon and Park Dae Su, San was able to become King Jeongjo and he even build Hwaseong Fortress to honour his late father.

King Jeongjo is considered to be a great ruler as he took great interest in building up the military, revamping the economy and politics left to him by his grandfather.

The Princess' Man (Moon Chae Won, Park Shi Hoo, Song Kang Ho, Hong Soo Hyun)

The drama shot Park Shi Hoo to fame where he plays as the handsome scholar-teacher Kim Seung Yu to the Royal Princess. However the Princess decided to switch roles with her cousin, Se Ryeong. Se Ryeong finds herself falling for the tutor when hells break loose as her father Prince Suyang overthrew the government and killed Seung Yu's father who is the General.

A Romeo-Juliet story in the Joseon dynasty...mmm...I find it interesting where Seung Yu is torn between his love for Se Ryeong and his revenge for his late father and brother. I find the child actress Yu Bin who plays as Seung Yu's niece is sooo adorable. She is cute and yet cried so well. Love her!

And of course there are some not-worth while to watch Sageuk dramas or considered the losers and crappy period dramas of all time- ratings were bad and not interesting at all.
Here are some of the poor ratings and boring Sageuk dramas.

Dr. Jin  (Song Seung Hun, Lee Bum Soo, Kim Jae Joong, Park Min Young)
This is a typical lost in transit drama from the past to the future where a gifted neurosurgeon Dr.Jin ended up in the dynasty period. He uses his skills to assist the poor and necessary while meeting with a girl who looks similiar to his dead girlfriend. Though Jaejoong is there as a Kim Kyung Tak guard but his talent is wasted in this drama! Sighs... Meh!! :(

A Nightwatchman's Journal (Jung Il Woo, Go Sung Hee, Jung Yunho)
One of the most terrible Sageuk drama which features poor graphics and rubbish storyline along with the poor women leads casted in it. Jung Il Woo and Yunho did their parts well but the female leads were more of a miserable patch in it. The story went draggy after a few episodes and no chemistry for the main leads. Even the villain rather fake in its power and computer effects lost it! It's a total disaster.

Faith (Lee Min Ho, Kim Hee Sun, Phillip Lee, Park Se Young, Ryu Deok Hwan)
Another time travel story of a plastic surgeon Eun Soo who was taken back to the past through a portal by General Choi Young to help the wounded Princess Nogok. Reluctant to adapt to the lifestyle, Eun Soo had no choice but to survive in the past. Originally Lee Jun Ki was offered the main lead but he turned it down to military committments. Thank god Junki didn't take up the role otherwise it'd be a flop. Though Lee Min Ho's fame managed to capture the audience but Kim Hee Sun didn't nail it through- an older female doctor with a younger General from the past...doesn't make any sense! Bleh!

Cruel Palace- War of Flowers (Kim Hyun Joo, Lee Duk Hwa,Jung Seong Mo)
Nearly 50 episodes of this royal court drama emphasizes a lot on the Royal Concubine Jo Sung Yun. She enters the palace by force to help her family and learns the hard way to earn the love and trust from the useless old King Injo. In fact I give credit to the Crown Prince and Crown Princess who sacrificed themselves to Ming dynasty for the sake of the rubbish King.
Concubine Jo comes in between the King and Crown Prince so she gains the court power and becomes very evil. No doubt Kim Hyun Joo shines beautifully in her colorful hanboks and head pieces but the storyline was rather flat.

Hyun Bin's new drama- Hyde-Jekyll and Me!

Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde? Well quite similiar to the English movie but it's titled Hyde-Jekyll and Me! That's newest drama to be aired on SBS Channel for the start of 2015 year- 하이드 지킬, 나. Starring Hyun Bin, Han Ji Min, Sung Joon and Girl's Day Hyeri.

They have casted A-list actors such as Binnie and Minnie. Bet it took a while for Hyun Bin to select this project after military days. He lost a lot of weight before he entered the Navy and even then he hasn't put on much. Han Ji Min has been a great actress when she portrayed so well as Park Ha in Rooftop Prince. I am not too familiar with Sung Joon as I've only seen him in several dramas such as Lie to me and Shut Up! Flower boy band. As for Girl's Day Hyeri- it's a No! No no! This girl is basically casted as a 2nd female lead with lack of appeal.

Hyun Bin and Han Ji Min wishing everyone a Happy New Year 2015

Anyway- here's the plot for the drama. Goo Seo Jin (played by Hyun Bin) is a typical rich chaebol who runs the theme park Wonder Land. Seo Jin has everything from riches, to fame and looks but after an unfortunate traumatic incident in his childhood he seems to be different. He has a unique split personality — one is a cold mean man, while the other is the total complete opposite-kind and sweet. And due to this reason he vows not to get married or date anyone in his life. Awww...

Another Kim Joo Won character from Secret Garden.... or perhaps Jo Joong Won in The Master's Sun.

Goo Seo Jin intends to get rid of the circus show at Wonder Land as it's a loss to the company. Then he clashes with the circus master Jang Ha Na (played by Han Jin Min). She vows to save the circus and tries to revive back its glory days. However Ha Na finds herself falling for the split personalities of Seo Jin.

Will give it go and it looks rather interesting...I don't mind seeing Hyun Bin in a chaebol character again...after all it fits him so well ever since he acted in Kim Sam Soon and Secret Garden. :)

KBS Drama Awards 2014 List of Winners

Happy Days for the casts of KBS family weekend drama- What's With the Family? when veteran actor Yoo Dong Geun took home the Dae-Sang (Grand Award) for year 2014! Indeed I so agree that this man should win. The role he portrayed so well as Cha Soon Bong- the tofu seller with 3 ignorant kids (Kim Hyun Ju, Yoon Park and Park Hyung Sik) who ignore him when he is well and alive. We have the pretty Kim Hyun Ju as the eldest daughter who doesn't seem to age at all and looking radiant. Seo Kang Jun looking cutie as usual with the fellow actress Nam Ji Hyun and ZE:A's Park Hyung Sik in black suits.
Yoo gave a great speech on how to spend more time and respect each other with your family members. I guess that's what is all about in the weekend drama- to cherish, love and spend more time with your family.

Lee Jun Ki & Nam Sang Mi for couple award. Junki is basically congratulating his
co-actress for she is getting married this year 2015. Cool! :)

Surprisingly the recent drama 'Healer' has snapped few awards for Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young. I find the drama interesting and cool so it definitely deserves some awards. The same goes to Joseon Gunman for our coolie Lee Jun Ki and the bride to be Nam Sang Mi.
Didn't quite get it how the drama Discovery of Love won so many awards- it was quite an unexpected drama with boring storyline and poor acting. Anyway I am glad that the rookie awards were given to Seo In Guk from King's Face- he has done well for himself. And our dear Dalbong and Seo Wool won the rookie awards with couple award too.

Park Hyung Sik and Nam Ji Hyun performed a duet 'Some' made famous from Sistar's So You and Jung Gi Go- which was poorly sung by Ji Hyun due to her shaky nervous voice compared to Hyung Sik who sings most of the time with ZE:A group.

Not to forget, Joo Won presented the Lifetime Achievement Award for the late actress Kim Ja Ok who passed away from cancer. He did a moving speech on how he respected the late actress so much and called her 'Mom' during their collaboration drama together on KBS's drama Ojakyo Brothers. Quite a sad scene as Yoo Dong Geun nodded his head and some actresses were seen wiping their tears too.

As expected (no surprises) that SBS TV station held its grand Drama Awards 2014 with the winners below.                                  Han Ye Seul & Ju Sang Wook

It was the year for Cheon Song Yi and Do Min Joon. The famous alien drama 'My Love from the Star' was really the star of the night with the cast sweeping most of the awards. It also came down with 'Pinnochio' whose casts Park Shin Hye and Lee Jong Suk grabbing some awards as well.

Jeon Ji Hyun donned in a shorter hairstyle in a while shoulder dress looked great as usual. This year there has been too many actresses dressed in white gowns and dresses for the awards. Almost 3 TV stations been screening actresses in white bridal gowns style.
Nevertheless Han Ye Seul is the odd one wearing a black puffy dress typical Sara like in the drama. Ju Sang Wook looked dashing as her other half partner- Han Tae Hee. Kekekk!
Lee Jong Suk looks cute as a button with his fair complexion...mmm

Again another award for JYJ's Park Yoo Chun. He looks stunning in his velvety black jacket. Classic as usual our dear Chunnie. And there's Lee Kwang Soo who won an award for his role in It's Okay to Love. Together to congratulate him is Sung Dong Il and Kang Ha Neul.
