Asian Incheon Games 2014 begins in September

UPDATES 19th Sept 2014: The opening 17th Asian Incheon Games 2014 was successful with various Hallyu stars, singers and celebrities attending the opening.

I watched live streaming on MBC Network - a few performances from EXO, of course JYJ came out to perform 'Only One' for the crowd cheered so much for them. It's strange to see this official song was cut out short with the athletes carrying the torch but the boys pulled it well with their English song 'Empty' gaining ooh-aaah from their fans and foreign guests.The athletes from all Asian countries were impressed with their performances and tons of cameras were clicking away with flashes. I wish I was among the crowd near the stage where I could see them so upclose. *grins*

Junsu's red hair is gone for good- he's back to sleek black, Yoochun as usual who is classic in black suit and black hair, even Jaejoong's blond has gone darker than usual blonde. They look great and did well. *Swoons* ... 대박!  And for the first time in so many years the boys were able to perform live on broadcasting station for the world to see them again!

The Asian Incheon Games 2014 is scheduled to begin its journey in Incheon, South Korea from 19th September until 4th October 2014 with 439 events in 36 sports and disciplines. Many Asian countries will participate in this event. The bidding for the games event started with India and South Korea. Eventually South Korea won the votes of 32 versus Delhi, India of 13 votes. Motto for this event is Diversity Shines Here The mascots for the event is 3 seals with its Korean names- Barame (Wind), Chumuro (Dance) and Vichuon(Light) Also the official song for this event is sung by the popular group JYJ entitled 'Only One' 

 The main stadium, known as Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, has an all-seater capacity of 61,074 seats, with 30,000 seats are variable after the Games.[18][22] The US$400 million stadium, who originally planned for 70,000 seats was designed by Populous, who has also designed several event venues around the world, including the Olympic Stadium of the 2012 Summer Olympics.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 28, 2011 in Yeonhui-dong, with construction beginning in June 2011 and expected to finish in April 2014. The opening ceremony will begin at 18:00 local time on 19/Sep, 2014.[Courtesy from Wikipedia website] However there were many controversial issues for the Opening Ceremony for the Asian Incheon Games 2014.

JYJ group being appointed as the honorary ambassadors since 2013 were suddenly dropped out from the event! Instead singer PSY, actor Kim Soo Hyun, Hyun Bin, and EXO were scheduled to perform during the opening ceremony. This has angered much of JYJ fans and netizens. They were disappointed with the committee for dropping out JYJ who has been promoting the song and event since 2013. (I was in dismay too when I heard the news.)

Fans and public wrote into IAG demanding for a fair and equal treatment for JYJ (after all lawsuit they had with SM Entertainment), finally the committee has agreed for JYJ to perform the official song 'Only One' during the Opening ceremony. (still I am pissed out with how the boys were treated) Apparently news broke out that SM Entertainment had their part of sponsoring in the Para-Games resulted to getting their own singers appearing in the big event. So as what we know SM Entertainment does play a big influence in getting their groups to perform and barring others. In my personal opinion, it'd be better off for the boys to hold concerts & fan meetings around the world rather than to perform in this event. Not worth it!


However fans were eagerly waiting to see them in the games event and even snapped out tickets to see them perform live. I was looking forward for the event when the boys were heavily promoting it via Internet and YouTube but NOW...I think I will sit in my 'backseat' and see how it goes...

 For Jun Su, Jae Joong and Yoo Chun -- God bless you boys...you've been too nice and taking the unfair treatment. We wish you trio all the best! After all their Asia Tour 2014 ended with much success from                                               Hong Kong- Vietnam, Thailand and China. Well done!!!
