Fine Food Australia- Melbourne Exhibition Centre 15-18th Sept 2014

The Fine Food Australia is opening at 10am at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 15th to 18th September 2014. It's an annual event whereby there are thousand over exhibitors displaying their food products, catering services and catering equipment. It's an event suitable for trades, hotel catering, people who are starting business, food industry students and hospitality business.

My manager and I skipped the first day of opening as we're usually busy and stuffed up with work on Monday's...so we went on Tuesday during lunch time. It was packed with visitors, trades, students and people in the hall. First we headed towards the catering equipment area where we saw displays of Roband, Moffat, Electrolux, Whirlpool, Rational combi ovens (which we have them on board our vessels).
Comcater Equipment which usually hosts our Cooks' Seminar had a big display where they were cooking and allowing visitors to taste their food fresh from the Rational Combi Oven.

Mike was hungry so we went towards the Roast Duck display and had a piece of freshly roasted duck. It was succulent and great. But lack of hoisin sauce is what I'm after with some spring roll paper. Ha ha!
Then I had a taste of I Love Frozen Yoghurt stall- hell! The hazelnut frozen yoghurt was excellent!
Smoothy, creamy and not sweet...best of all the man told us it's sugar and milk free! How good is that!
Frozen yoghurt contains helpful “good bacteria” such as L. bulgaricus and S. thermophulus. These healthy cultures have been shown to keep the digestive system regular, stimulate the immune system and fight infection. Eating just one cup of frozen yoghurt that contains these “active cultures” each day will work wonders for your body and health!

I had 2 cups of them, sorry... I can't help it! Then we had some freshly cooked pasta, various mini spring rolls, a cup of hot chocolate (from an Italian barrista)- the coffee equipment looks stunning!
We wandered to the Flavours of the World section where exhibiting country pavilions include Austria, China, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, Pacific Islands, South America, Taiwan, Thailand and USA. We tried the Hazelnut White Coffe from Ipoh's Home Cafe Sdn.Bhd...it was nice.

I managed to grab some of the USA Reece Peanut butter chocolate bites for some of our colleagues in the office. Too bad we have no showbags else I'd have grab more.

After spending an hour in the event show, we had to return back to work. HOWEVER, we will back for more food and drinks with our 2 food consultants on Thursday afternoon!

Till then... here's me signing off after trying various types of food!
