Descendants of the Sun enjoying popularity in North America.

KBS 2TV drama Descendants of the Sun seems to be the main hype everywhere, not just in Asia but also now in North America.

The famous site for streaming movies/drama- VIKI.com is the number 1 spot and hit for the drama with 32 subtitles for this particular drama. They are planning it to dub it in Spanish and Portuguese as well. It has been promoted to the US broadcasting stations and media.

Yoo Geun Sik- a KBS media representative in America has been seeing emails from South Korea- China and now from America regarding the popular drama.

The popular drama sites in US are Miss USA and it seems to be plastered with with stories of Descendants of the Sun. The main leads Song Joong Ki, Song Hae Gyo, Jin Gu and Kim Ji Won were also the main factors attracting lots of attention.

It is a solid love story, fighting and sacrifice along with humanity in the drama which was the top factor the drama is a hit.

Sites such as YouTube were having massive hits from the clips of the dramas with wrong subtitles but people were enjoying them as well. VIKI website needs to be subscribed and due to the drama, the subscribers have increased tremendously to 400% within 5 weeks.

Other sites such as Dramafever.com, Hulu.com, Ondemandkorea.com and Tivo.com were screening the dramas as well- the power of Hallyu.

There is an interest for US TV stations to either remake Descendants of the Sun as KBS America has screened the drama Good Doctor- it's on talks now CBS studio are trying to remake it with the Korean-American actor Daniel Kim.
