As we are getting nearer to the end of SBS's Six Flying Dragons drama, everyone is glued to their seats watching how will Jeong Do Jeon (Sambong) meet his end when he crosses with Lee Bang Won who has tolerated him all these years. Now we know fictional character Boon Yi might survive through the ordeal in Banchon village or she might just disappear out of the political war.
The coming episodes leave the viewers wondering if ever the 2 loyal bodyguards Lee Bang Ji and Moo Hyul will be facing each other with sword or will they leave on their own?
As far as we know Moo Hyul has been faithfully around until King Sejong's reign so he will be alive. The same goes to Lee Bang Ji but his relationship with Yeon Hee is either been picked up along the way or just fell through after Sambong's demise. Shippers for Bang Ji and Yeon Hee- stay tuned (to be honest, I don't care much on Yeon Hee's character- she did play an important role at the start, but as soon as she starts telling Boon Yi to stay away from Bang Won- that's it, I am over with her.)
History has recorded Jeong Do Jeon meets his fatal end in 1398 when Bang Won and his troops finished him off. Ahn nyeong Sambong... but his formed secret organization Milbon
(Roots of People) continues on to King Sejong's era. As we are getting close to the finale, we see some characters were disposed off as well to a certain extent, I felt so empty without seeing them in screen. Example- Young Gyu...he has been the most faithful, understanding, hardworking person to the Lee family. Ever since the first episode, we see young Young Gyu accompanying Bang Won everywhere from grasslands to school and to battle fields. Who else can be that person except for Young Gyu... he was more than a friend, warrior and most of all a 'brother' to Bang Won. We wept in our hearts when he was killed in an accidental death while trying to protect the secret armory dungeon. Moo Hyul and Bang Won cried their eyes out upon knowing Young Gyu died for their secret mission. The brotherhood in this story tells us how faithful and loyal these warriors are to their comrades and to their 'master' they serve.
And I like the fact where the last conversation Young Gyu had with Moo Hyul was asking if
their master is furiously dishing his face with water and couldn't make up his mind. But once if he comes to a conclusion, no matter what he must follow the decision. Aww...
Come to think of it, King Taejo as the first Joseon king doesn't do much except leaving everything to Sambong. Of course the foundation was laid and rules were given that no royal family members are to participate in politics- making him a puppet ruler. Imagine a former General who used to fight fiercely in wars suddenly sits on a throne timidly hearing the council members on a daily basis. There is no wonder the King Taejo's sons were upset and set this rebel against Sambong.
Then there's Lady Min- Bang Won's wife and soon-to-be Queen is supportive for what he husband does. Though there was no romance between the two of them before and after marriage but we were shown she is dedicated to ensure her husband succeeds in his plans and has no regrets in whatsoever. Go girl! And as for the Crown Prince Bang Seok, the poor young boy will just die at a young age without knowing why. First of all his greedy late mother Queen Sindeok and puppet father King Taejo placed him as a Crown Prince. This was already a wrong step creating jealousy among the older Princes. To get rid of Bang Seok is just a piece of cake as Bang Won's troops are way prepared for bigger wars.
And history has us remember who General Choi Young was, the fictional characters Gil Tae Mi with his horrifying yet interesting make-up with earrings, Monk Jukryong, Hwasadan owner Cho Young who was faithful to Nameless group, Hong In Bang, Lee Saek, Jeong Mong Ju (Po Eun), PM Lee In Gyeom, Jo Joon and Ha Ryun.
Now what is Moo Myung going to do after the princes strife....will they continue to support Bang Won to throne or will they just remain as 'nameless' merchants with their own organization? I seriously hope that Bang Ji won't need to go face on with his own mother.
