Festival Fiction TV in Europe has invited several South Korean dramas in participating in it.
According to the Korea Creative Content Agency (KIDA) on 14th September, South Korea will be invited to host 'Festival de la Fiction TV' in La Rochelle, France for the first time as a host country. From this day, the title will be 'K-drama Europe screening'.
The 19th annual 'Festival Fiction TV' is a drama special event that attracts more than 30,000 spectators annually including about 2,000 officials from the French government and major broadcasting companies and production companies.
South Korea is the first guest country this year and will have the opportunity to promote excellent Korean dramas and explore possibilities to enter the country through this event. The Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency (KISA) will organise programs such as Korean drama screening, industry workers' workshops, and business conferences to promote Korean dramas to the European market.
Especially the first day of the Korean drama screening, MBC TV drama 'W: Two Worlds' has attracted popularity with excellent work-ability and original story line, cable channel tvN drama 'Signal', 'The Package' is scheduled to be broad cast by JTBC next month have all been introduced in this event.
In addition, there will be a Korean drama official from 'Signal' - PD Kim Won-seok, W's writer Kim Eun Hee, The Package's PD Jeong Chang-Keun, writer Chun Sung Il writer, MBC drama production director Hwan Hee, Park Jun Seo will also participate in a specialist workshop to introduce Korean TV industry trends and cases of overseas advancement.
The event will be attended by representatives of the National Film Center of France (Frédéric Vardin), Delfinée Ernort Kunch, President of France TV Zion, and Stefan Strano Fiction TV representatives.
The Korea Development Agency said, "It will make this event an opportunity to start exporting Korean dramas to western Europe."
