KBS2's Unkind Ladies drama tops ratings on Wed-Thurs slot

KBS2 has been screening its popular drama 'Unkind Ladies- 착하지 않은 여자들' on the Wednesday-Thursday slot gaining lots of popularity and high ratings thanks to their veteran actors.

Lee Hana, Do Jiwon, Chae Sira, Kim Hyeja

Features veteran actress Kim Hye Ja (who played as Queen Dowager in Goong series), veteran actor Lee Soon Jae, Seo Yi Sook, Sohn Chang Min and Chae Si Ra. Lee Ha Na plays the studious Professor Jung Ma Ri who is gentle, timid kind person but gets booted out from the University. She lives with her mother and grandmother in a traditional hanok house. Her grandmother Soon Ok bears a long grudge on her husband's girlfriend Jang Mo Ran (played by Jang Mi Hee) and starts mental torturing her when she brings her into their home after learning she has a terminal illness. Soon Ok has 2 daughters- Hyun Jung is a famous newscaster who is single and career minded (played by Do Ji Won) and the troublemaker Hyun Sook (played by Chae Si Ra) who is Ma Ri's young immatured mother. Hyun Sook resents her evil teacher Na Hyun Ae to death for expelling her out from school because she worshipped a foreign idol. Poor Hyun Sook feels inferior and often gets solace from her frieng Jong Mi (played by Kim Hyun Ae). She married her tutor, Goo Min and had Ma Ri when she was 20!

First of all I mainly watched this series not because of the troublesome women but the male characters. Lee Soon Jae is always nice to watch since he's a veteran actor. He plays as the husband Chul Hee who lost his memory and everyone thought he died years back. And there's the handsome Kendo instructor Lee Roo Oh (played by Song Jae Rim) who gets himself tangled between his love for Ma Ri and his half brother Lee Doo Jin (played by Kim Ji Seok) To make things worst Roo Oh's biological mother is the evil Na Hyun Ae who mentally tortured Ma Ri's mother. His relationship with his mother is estranged while Doo Jin is the mediator. 

Though I don't find Lee Hana that suitable to play as Mari but it is definitely a pleasure to see Song Jae Rim in this series. Do Ji Won last appeared in Healer drama as Park Min Young's mother in the wheel chair, Kim Hyun Ae last acted in Triangle series as the woman who was interested in Kim Jaejoong while Seo Yi Sook was You're All Surrounded as Lee Seunggi's supportive police chief. 

A big cast for this 24-episode drama...we can't wait to see the story unfolds when Soon Ok finds out her husband wasn't dead after all, and how Roo Oh will cope with his mother's evil deeds towards Ma Ri's mother. Keypoint to look out for is the OST- NOEL's Jeon Woo Sun has lend his voice for the 2nd part song- 내가 그댈 which serves as the love song for Roo Oh and Ma Ri.
