I still remembered his child roles as the young Seo Jun Young in Sad Love Story - which was later played by Kwon Sang Woo. Then he was the young Seongjong in The King and I drama, the rebellious Kim Cheonchu in Queen Seondeok drama. His big breakthrough came when Yoo was in God of Study drama as the problematic student Hwang Baek Hyun who eventually managed to pass through government exams to be accepted in medical school.
He was later in Operation Proposal - a spinoff of the popular Japanese drama. I nearly laughed when I saw him playing as the young yet kind hearted Jade Emperor- Heaven King in the Arang and Magistrate with Lee Jun Ki and Shim Min Ah. He sure looked good all in white and yet he could play chess while having a good time with Hades (King of Hell). Hahah!
His popularity shot up when he played Kang Hyung Jun in the drama I Miss You with Yoon Eun Hye and Park Yoo Chun. He has won best child actor awards since he was kid. He then quietly enlisted himself for military after finishing the drama I Miss You earning him a good name since he won the Excellence Award in the army batallion. Good on him!
he plays as a magician Hwan Hee and a Joseon Princess (played by Go A-Ra) met him along the way before she gets hitched up to a Qing dynasty fella. And then so forth- the forbidden love story.... Supporting actors are Kwak Do Won, Jo Yun Hee, Park Chul Min and Sohn Byung Ho.
I am bit skeptical about Go A-Ra's acting. No doubt she is pretty but in terms of acting skills- she still has a long way to go. I could see her overacting when she played in the drama You're Surrounded. Let's hope things would change a bit. It will be Yoo Seung Ho's first ever film ever he's been out from army.
