Review on first 2 episodes of High Society 상류사회 drama

Took me by surprise the new SBS drama High Society- 상류사회  is rather interesting...of course with veteran actors such as Go Doo Shim, Yoon Joo Sang, Choi Young Min..etc
The leads are of course the young idols such as After School's UEE, Sung Joon, ZE:A's Park Hyung Sik and Im Ji Yeon

As I am never a fan of Sung Joon, he has shown a pretty good improvement in acting. Basically I was laughing my head off whenever I see Park Hyung Sik in his bossy chaebol's son role- Yoo Chang Soo. UEE plays the youngest daughter Jang Yoon Ha from Taejin Group who was a loner and outcast in the family. She then seeks her own love and life by working as a part-timer in Food Market owned by Chang Soo's family. First she was arranged for a blind date with Chang Soo only to be dissed with water for her rudeness and cold character.

Yoon Ha is a strong character girl who doesn't stand down when her best friend Lee Jin Yi is been insulted by rich customers at the Food Market. Sung Joon plays the Deputy Manager Choi Joon Gi who works at Food Market and also a good companion to Chang Soo. He works hard to achieve what he has but his family is actually poor and humble. He believes

money turns the world around and without money there is nothing. Yoon Ha hides her real identity from everyone in order to find the one man who loves her and not her background.

Her family is rather complicated as Taejin Group is a big company with her siblings as super rivals in the business to determine who is going to be the heir. Her elder sister Ye Won is super ambitious and always against the brother Gyeong Joon. Her 2nd sister is a good for nothing woman who often bullies her. Their mother Min Hye Soo suffers humiliation from her husband's mutiple affairs out there but holds her family tight to maintain the good reputation.

Chang Soo is one funny character since he's played by Park Hyung Sik (our dear Dalbong from What's with the Family?)... I love him bits,...he's wacky and stands out with his personality. He even argued with Jin Yi over small things and I guess he might end up with a poor girl instead of a chaebol's daughter. In terms of work life- he leaves everything for Joon Gi to handle for him while he goes against his elder brother in their own company.

It was a good start to this drama seeing how strong Yoon Ha is and she will determine her own fate. In fact I can't wait to see her leave the horrible house and toss that 2nd sister of her into the bin! And how she ends up with Joon Gi is another matter of time...will he really love her and not her background? Mmmm.... ponders... ponders...
