Apart from Hollywood blockbusters screening in local cinemas, it's also the local films which is slowly gaining the audience. Apparently the Korean film "Assasination" 암살 (directed by Choi Dong Hoon) starring A-list stars is taking the number 1 spot in the cinemas.
On 15th August, the film has hit the 10 million mark viewers making it the largest number of audience for this year. According to the Korean Film Council Integrated Computer Network cinema tickets, the movie 'Assassination' has gathered 371,582 people and slowly exceeded 10 million whiel 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' has 10.49 million viewers this year.
'Assassination' is a work that has received the most attention throughout all the movies released in Korea this year. Jeon Ji Hyun, Ha Jung Woo, Lee, Lee Jung Jae, Jo Jin Woong, Lee Kyung Yeong, Kim Hae Sook and Choi Deok Mun as the star-studded cast and director have never failed to impress the viewers.
The background of the film is set during the Japanese occupation where contracts were set up with the death squads to murder and to remove the Japanese military leadership Hitman.
Jeon plays as the Captain Ahn Ok Yoon who is a brilliant sniper with her sidekicks Deok Sam and Chu Sang Ok. Unknown to them a bunch of hitman Hawaii Pistol and Old Man are hot on their trail to assasinate them.
